The company was borne in the midst of the most devastating global pandemic in a century, with the belief on the part of its founder, Etienne Grignard, that an existing technology he knew well - in the fog and haze fluids he had developed twenty years earlier as a safe effective medium for extended exposure to the theatrical haze and fog that enhances lighting effects on Broadway and other live stages-  could be effectively modified for use as an antimicrobial solution in the battle against SARS-CoV-2. This innovative breakthrough became the first-of-its-kind air treatment approved by EPA under an emergency exemption to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
